About Us

Our founder, Arline Conigliaro, nearly wore out her 5-quart mixer before she graduated to an industrial kitchen that could keep pace with growing demand for Imperial Cookies. We still follow the recipes that Arline lovingly adapted from her Russian grandmother, Sonia. Only now, instead of feeding friends and family, we're delighting sweet tooths around the country. Our cookies, biscotti, and cakes make excellent corporate gifts and deliciously fun alternatives to candy and flowers.

How It All Began

As a school counselor, Arline shared her latest creations with students, teachers, and neighbors. At family gatherings or school functions, her baked goods were easy to spot - they featured quality ingredients in generous proportions, including Belgian chocolate, nuggets of ginger, Grade AA butter, and pure vanilla.

What Arline loved most about whipping up a batch of biscotti or a tray of cookies was how happy they made the people around her. As she planned a new business that would bring her cookies to a wider audience, she needed a name that would convey the warmth and old-fashioned goodness of her baked goods. She gathered with lifelong friends one sunny afternoon and Imperial Cookies was born.

Where We Are Today

Today, we have a talented team working in a professional kitchen as we fulfill orders from all over the country. You can find our cookies at specialty food stores around Princeton, New Jersey, through our catering engagements in the area, and online. We remain absolutely adamant about making cookies by hand, with no preservatives, with the best ingredients we can find.

Arline would like to thank her photographer and lifelong friend, Gale Zucker, for the luscious photos of cookies, biscotti, and cakes that appear on this site, as well as her website team of Michelle Bashaw, Jilla Dilmaghani, Louisa Handle, and Bruce Kaechele.

Team Appreciation Make on-the-job success even sweeter with these peanut butter chocolate chunk cookies.

My very favorite are Imperial's Oatmeal Raisin cookie. They are crisp with a bit of chewy, fragrant like they just came out of the oven, and ridiculously delicious! Yum.
